2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 starts at $189,350

Following its world debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show last November, the 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 is now available on order in United States from $189,350 ($925 delivery charges). Scheduled to go on sale in United States in April, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be offered in the range-topping S600 specification and promises to provide an "opulent package" as mentioned by the Daimler-owned company. It is 200mm (8 inches) longer (at 5453mm / 214,6 inches) than the S-Class LWB and all the added length can be noticed in the wheelbase (at 3365mm / 132,4 inches) which now grants stellar rear legroom. The exterior styling tweaks are subtle as the only noticeable features are the 66mm shorter rear doors, C-pillar third side window, lightly revised front grille along with Maybach-specific wheels, lettering & badges. The most important changes occur inside the cabin of the "quietest car in the world" where there are standard executive rear seats with individually adjustable backrests and cushions. Its heart and soul is the familiar V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine developing 523 bhp (390 kW) and 612 lb-ft (830 Nm) of torque. Aside from a massive engine, the hefty price tag also brings MAGIC BODY CONTROL, full LED headlights, Burmester 3D surround sound system, head-up display, rear seat entertainment system, heated windshield and many more. As a reminder, the same version starts at €187,841 at home in Germany where interested buyers can also get a V8-powered S500 variant from €134,053.
